I started building Ration because every pantry tracker I had used assumed the user would do the boring work — typing in every can of tomatoes, reconciling a shopping list against what is already in the cupboard, planning meals on a Sunday evening. That model breaks down the moment life gets busy.
The unlock is that LLMs and MCP make it cheap to push the boring work to the agent. Ration is the substrate underneath: structured inventory in Cloudflare D1, semantic search via Vectorize, image-based ingestion via Workers AI, and a clean MCP server that any compatible client can drive.
